What are Investment Shares?

Investment Shares are an exclusive equity investment in Ganaraska Financial Credit Union offered only to our members, providing the ideal opportunity to earn an attractive rate of return. Through the purchase of these shares, members are not only investing in, but also contributing to, the future growth and strength of their credit union.

How are dividends paid?

Dividends are not guaranteed and must be approved on an annual basis by the Board of Directors. Ganaraska Financial Credit Union Investment shares offer a target annual dividend rate of 1% above of the simple average of the posted rate offered by the Credit Union on its 5-year term deposit. Dividends are paid to shareholders in the form of additional shares. There is no guarantee that a dividend will be paid each year. Dividends are non-cumulative, therefore, if a dividend is not paid in a given year, it will not be added to the next dividend. Investment Shares are not insured by the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO).
