Becoming a member of GFCU is both convinient and easy!
Whether your looking for personal or business banking solutions weve got you covered! To open an account with us we require two pieces of government issued ID, at least one with a photograph. Some of the more common pieces of ID we accept are:
Valid Ontario Drivers License
Birth Certificate
Passport
Ontario Identification Card
Major Credit Card
Firearms license
* for members 16 years or older.
Membershares
Accompanying your ID will be the requirement of a membershare. A Membershare ensures that each member has a vote in the Credit Union and gives members access to all of the products and services we have to offer as well as enabling them to attend our Annual General Meeting. Membershares are $50 per person, and will be returned to the member should they ever choose to close their account. Membershares ensure growth and stability for our Credit Union and usually pays a small dividend. Members have the opportunity to contribute up to an additional $1000 into the membershare, taking advantage of that dividend and we encourage such contribution as a form of short term savings.
